First off, I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas! I know I did. Although I ended up working two split shifts yesterday, I was able to make it back before dinner and spend the rest of the day with my family.
So, regarding the camera that I've been using for almost two and a half years now, (Canon SX40 HS) it's been beat up, scratched, and you can tell there's metal rubbing against metal when you zoom in and out. Not only that, but recently, I've noticed the quality of my pictures starting to drop, so I looked into getting a replacement. One of my presents yesterday was said replacement, a Canon SX50 HS. Instead of the SX40's 35x optical zoom, I now have a 50x optical zoom that I can utilize! Perfect for plane spotting! And to top thing off, the SX50's layout is nearly identical to the SX40's, so getting used to it will take no time at all. I can't wait to use it in the field!
